Location: On-site in Williamtown, NSW
Contract Type: 6 month contract
Overview: Our client, a prominent Defence Managed Service Provider (MSP), is actively seeking a proficient Network Technician to join their team. The role primarily involves operating within a training center environment, providing support for consoles. Due to the nature of the work, on-site presence is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Coaching, Mentoring, and Advice: Provide guidance and assistance to users regarding network operations, troubleshooting, and best practices.
Network Engineering: Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Systems Engineering: Collaborate with other teams to integrate network systems with existing infrastructure and applications.
Communications Network Engineering: Manage and optimize communication networks to facilitate efficient data transmission and connectivity.
Information Communications and Technology (ICT) Systems: Assist in the deployment and maintenance of ICT systems, including hardware, software, and peripherals.
Network Administration: Perform administrative tasks such as user management, access control, and configuration management.
Network Security: Implement and monitor security measures to protect network systems from unauthorized access, malware, and other threats.
Network Support: Respond to and resolve network-related issues reported by users in a timely manner.
Systems Engineering and Integration: Participate in the design and integration of network systems with various platforms and technologies.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a defence or security-focused environment.
- Proficiency in network engineering principles, protocols, and technologies.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering concepts and practices.
- Knowledge of communications network engineering principles and techniques.
- Familiarity with Information Communications and Technology (ICT) systems and tools.
- Experience in network administration, security, and support.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- NV1 clearance or eligibility to obtain clearance is required.
Contractual Details: 6 month contract - potential extension
