Contracts Engineer

Calling all Contract Engineers Your new company Our client is a heavy haulage company that delivers a wide range of services locally and throughout the State, including significant operations in the Northern Goldfields & Queensland. Your new role Reporting to the Project Manager (PM), the position of Contracts Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of Contracts Management for the project and ad hoc jobs in the Civil and Earthworks phase. This key role will be responsible for:
Managing contractual agreements with the client, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Assist the PM to undertake contracts negotiation, analysis of contractual terms and conditions and managing Cardinals' contractual and legal obligations.
Working with the Site Engineer to manage the delivery of the projects in terms of meeting our contractual obligations, legal and safety requirements and handling any variations and additions and amendments to the contract.
Continuously monitor and advise the PM on compliance clauses in the contract and ensure that required reporting of activities is met by managing obligations to the client and from our suppliers in their delivery of goods and services to the project.
You will also be expected to liaise with internal personnel and external agents to ensure all contractual, financial, and legal requirements are completed efficiently and on time in accordance with the direction of the GM and/or PM. What you'll need to succeed
A minimum of 5 years in a similar role with proven contracts administration and management experience.
An Engineering or Law degree and/or formal Contracts Law or Management qualification is required.
Have the ability to scope up contracts and manage contracts negotiation functions as required.
Adhere to OHS, accident and reporting procedures.
Good knowledge and practical application of workplace Occupational Health & Safety.
Membership in a professional body such as Institute of Engineers or Certified Practicing Project Manager or Member of the Australian Institute of Project Management or similar would be advantageous.
Pass pre-employment medicals and drug and alcohol screening.
Have a current, acceptable National Police Certificate (obtained within the last 12 months)
Ability to work in Australia.
