We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contracts Manager to join our team. Our client is a leading construction company specializing in bulk earthworks and civil works projects across Queensland. With a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget, we are committed to excellence in every aspect of our work.
The Contracts Manager will play a key role in overseeing bulk earthworks and civil works projects from conception to completion. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of contract law and project management methodologies, with a focus on earthworks, and will possess excellent leadership and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee contract preparation, negotiation, execution, performance monitoring, and dispute resolution for bulk earthworks projects.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize project profitability, identify cost savings, and align commercial objectives with project goals.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks, develop risk management plans, and ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, monitor costs, and ensure timely and accurate billing and invoicing.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, and act as the primary point of contact for commercial matters.
- Maintain accurate records of all commercial activities and prepare regular performance reports for senior management.
- Lead, mentor, and develop contract administration and commercial staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in a similar contracts management role within the construction or contracting industry, with a focus on bulk earthworks and infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of contract law and project management methodologies.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
