The role of the Control Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, programming, testing, documenting and maintaining electrical and electronic Control Systems ensuring processes run safely and efficiently.You will also utilise your experience to create solutions for testing various functionalities of devices by integrating hardware, software, and mechanical components.
Projects will include sporting venues, theatres/performing arts centre's, schools, public precincts/conference centres, corporate facilities, TV studios and councils.You will establish and maintain working relationships within the organisation as well as with key external stakeholders and customers. From implementing training on Control systems operations to providing costing to clients. You will have full ownership of your role!Your main duties will involve:
- Diagnosing problems and faults with Control Systems.
- Development and construction of controls. From rigging systems to lighting cranes to full AV control Systems.
- Designing, building, programming, testing and documenting electromechanical and electronic Control Systems. From Control Processor through to interface.
- Research, design and management of Control Systems.
- Develop software that meets customer needs or creates more efficiency.
- Developing compliance documentation for both standard products and custom engineered machinery systems.
- Providing costings and concept models for control system components for tenders and quotations.
- Modifying existing systems and developing improvements
- Developing and revising Quality Assurance documentation relevant to Control Systems.
To be successful in obtaining this role you will have the following experience:
Mandatory:
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current Police Check
- Current Drivers licence
- Full Australian Working rights
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3+ years relevant experience in previous roles. Previous Audia Visual / events Production experience is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of electrical theory, control components, and automation.
- Programming skills in languages such as C and C++
- The ability to read and understand complex plans
- Excellent communication skills
- You will be required to communicate and train others. Explaining processes across your team and to end users through simple and clear directions.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
- The ability to work across multiple projects at the same time
- Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills
