The Role

This role will drive the direction of the formulation of the Control Systems strategies, plans and policies with oversight of the control system design, development, change and functionality.
As an experienced technical expert, you will oversee the operations and management of the communications and controls engineering team within the Engineering and Design functional support team.

About You:
As a tertiary qualified, experienced manager with and in the design and selection of electrical equipment, Control Systems & instrumentation you will manage technical persons in facilitating a project (technical input and the management of technical risk).
Your broad understanding on engineering disciplines and design processes involved in projects coupled with a sound understanding of statutory and industry standards and specifications will make you successful in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consultation and advice on control system methods and procedures
- Plan and overseeing control system design development, change and functionality
- Direct the formulation of control system engineering strategies, policies and plans
- Liaise and collaborate with the Commissioning Team on commissioning activities (design install, test and operate)
- Liaise and collaborate with other divisions/departments
- Work with Engineering and Design Manager on selection and hiring of staff and will support with the people management
- Interfacing with other consultants in the business
- Coordinate activities of control system staff
- Assess and delegate resolution of issues
- Support to functions of the Engineering and Design Team for Tender Development, Project Delivery, Operations and R&D activities
- Ensuring compliance with HSEQ, policies and procedures
