Job description

Tribe Early Learning Success is looking for a passionate Chef to join our professional team. Our service prides it’s self on quality education and care, providing children with nutritionally balanced meals.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Chef who has had experience preparing meals for children in an Early Childhood setting or in a large-scale setting.

We are looking for an energetic person that can effectively manage our fast-paced kitchen autonomously to cater for individual dietary requirements, allergies, and anaphylaxis. You must also be willing to respectfully engage with our children, educating them on the importance of healthy nutrition habits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare menus that are sensitive and responsive to children's daily nutritional needs

• Effectively manage and plan for individual food allergy and intolerances, food preferences, cultural, religious, and special dietary requirements

• Ensure that food is prepared appropriately maintaining nutritional value following safe food handling procedures

• Responsible for following the Food Safety Plan in line with WA Food Safety ACT requirements

• Supporting the framework that eating is a pleasurable experience, introducing children to a variety of foods.

• Responsible for ordering and arranging delivery of ingredients and products in line with service budget

Skills and Experience:

• Experience in a commercial kitchen preparing meals for a large number of people

• Capacity to manage meal preparation and priorities to ensure efficiency and quality

• Effective communication skills with all room leaders and Centre Manager

• Engage with families, children, and team members for planning and implementation of menus

Qualifications:

Food Safety Supervisor qualification or wiling to obtain

• Preferred Certificate III in Hospitality or comparable with relevant experience in the industry

• WA-Working with Children Check
