AddressWe require a part time Qualified Cook with experience in Aged Care to join our Balcatta catering team.
This is permanent part time position ( 28 hrs a fortnight) working weekends plus leave cover.
The role works under the direction of the Chef and will prepare and cook meals in line with the organisation's menu plans to meet residents' needs and preferences and catering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Consistently comply with the implementation of facility and organisational values, code of conduct, cultural diversity charter, policies, procedures and standards.
- Deliver and have input into menus in accordance with nutritional requirements, customer preferences and chefs' guidance to deliver nutritious and flavoursome meals.
- Maintaining, rotate and check stock controls and ordering of supplies/equipment as required.
- Supervision of both kitchen and servery staff, cleaning and food safe duties.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident, customer, organisation and staff information.
- Liaises with the RAC Manager and clinical team for guidance and support in providing appropriate meals and enhancing compliance with Accreditation and Food Safety Standards and Management Systems.
- Maintain the kitchen environment in a clean and safe manner.
Essential Qualifications / Skills
- Qualified Cook with a passion for delivering all-round high quality meal services.
- Previous experience in Aged Care environment highly desirable.
- Demonstrated team leader and supervisory skills with a proven ability to coach, guide and train catering staff and manage shift performance and productivity.
- Commitment to Continuous Improvement and Risk Management principles.
- Ability to work within directed menu plans and stock controls.
- Demonstrated ability to follow recipes and menus.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills and experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards, HACCP, Dysphagia Diet Standards (IDDSI) and Quality and Safety Management systems.
- Computer literacy skills.
- Proven professional written and verbal communication skills to engage with all customers and staff.
- Current driver’s licence.
