Permanent Part Time - working 32 hours per week (Sunday to Wednesday 8 hours per day)

$27.30  Hourly  + up to 12% super

Your opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced cook to join our team in the Indigiscapes cafe. Located in bushland overlooking beautiful Coolnwynpin Creek tributary on Redlands Coast, you will be working Sunday to Wednesday 7am - 3:30pm and be responsible for producing consistent, high quality and well-presented established menu items. 

Guided by our Values, you will:

  • produce quality menu items each and every time, using a range of cooking techniques, focusing on presentation, freshness and consistency in a high volume and busy kitchen environment.
  • ensure the safe and efficient running of the kitchen workspace, including maintenance of an organised and clean kitchen which complies with food hygiene and sanitation standards.
  • collaborate with the Café Coordinator in the development of menu options which will contribute to environmental and bush tucker flavour goals of the café.
  • stock control duties with a focus on minimising wastage and ensuring capacity to deliver the full menu on any given day.

  • has a proven capability as a cook in a busy kitchen environment including production of consistent and quality menu items including baked goods, in accordance with provided menus and recipes;
  • has demonstrated knowledge of and compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, food hygiene and sanitation requirements relevant to a commercial kitchen;
  • has demonstrated interest in menu creation and capacity to collaborate with the Café Co-Ordinator to develop menu items which reflect Café environmental and bush tucker goals;
  • has demonstrated understanding of stock control and wastage control parameters in a busy kitchen environment.

Eligibility

  • You'll hold a First Aid Certificate or have the ability to rapidly acquire one.
  • You'll hold a food handling certificate or have the ability to rapidly acquire one.
  • You'll have the physical capability to perform cleaning and manual handling tasks when required.
  • You'll have the flexibility to work across weekend and evening shifts as rostered.
  • A Food Safety Supervisor certificate is highly regarded.
