About the role
We are seeking an experience Chef/Cook/Kitchenhand/Catering Assistantwho is passionate about cooking nutritious and healthy meals, to join the kitchen team at our new client's Aged Care facility in Lake Cathie, NSW.
- Roster:
- Kitchenhand: Saturday to Wednesday from 11:30am to 7:30pm (37.5hours)
- Cook/Chef: * Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday from 6.30am to 10.30am.
* Thursday and Friday from 11.30am to 7.30pm.
- Catering Assistant: Multiple shifts across Monday to Sunday.
- Higher hourly rate will be paid for cook/chef shifts.
- Weekend and Public Holiday Loadings apply.
The successful applicant must provide a current Federal Police Check certificate, or be willing to apply for one, and have received at least two doses of the COVID-19 Vaccine.

Skills and experience
- 2+ years' experience in a similar role
- Cert III in commercial cookery desirable
- Reliable and punctual
- Collaborative and team player
- Ability to multi-task and perform work within deadlines.
- The ability to function within a kitchen whilst working harmoniously with the team.
- Excellent client liaison and customer service skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Meal preparation according to the menu.
- Be Well Presented and Enjoy Working with and Serving People.
- Ability to produce high quality meals in line with HACCP guidelines, Quality Assurance procedures.
- Responsible for preparation of special diets such as puree, gluten free and texture modified etc
- Excellent organisation skills and the ability to multi-task
- High level of QA, WH&S, HACCP and Food Safety knowledge
- Support the chef manager in preparation of meals
Candidates must:
- Be Well Presented and Enjoy Working with and Serving People
- Have Knowledge of Food Safety & HACCP
- Possess Excellent Communication & Customer Service Skills
- Previous Aged Care Experience is Preferable, but not Essential
- Provide or be willing to apply for an Australian Police Check
- Have current Covid Vaccination
