Great Opportunity for a Couple
We are looking to employ an energetic and friendly couple to manage our small (6 guest rooms) family friendly Ski Lodge for the 2024 snow season. Our ski in-ski out lodge is situated in the heart of Charlotte Pass Village which is completely snowbound during winter and accessible only by Over snow Transport that operates from Perisher Valley.
The Roles
Note: This job is for a COUPLE - applicants must please submit their resumes together under a joint cover letter detailing how they will, as a couple, complement each other in the fulfillment of their respective roles.
The applicants are required to work independently as the Directors to whom they report are based in Sydney.
Key responsibilities of the Manager/cook:
- The Manager/cook will be responsible for the smooth running of all facets of the lodge.
- Menu planning, ordering food to a specified budget, stock control, providing simple breakfasts, self-serve homemade daily soup for lunch, 3-course dinner for 6 evenings.
- Daily maintenance of lodge common areas to ensure tidy and well-presented lodge,
- cleaning rooms for guest turnarounds with linen changeover.
Key responsibilities of the Assistant:
- Assist Manager/cook with duties as required, including providing solo simple breakfasts and homemade soup 3 days a week, assisting with dinner 5 days a week and providing a 3-course dinner solo one day a week.
- Assist Manager/Cook with daily maintenance of lodge common areas to ensure tidy and well-presented common areas, cleaning rooms for guest turnarounds with linen changeover.
Remuneration
The remuneration for the 2 roles is as follows:
Manager/Cook - a salary of $21 700 (plus superannuation) for a 15-week contract from Saturday 15th June 2024 to Saturday 28th September 2024; and
Assistant - a salary of $13 500 (plus superannuation) for a 14-week contract from Saturday 22nd June 2024 to Saturday 28th September 2024.
Included
- 2 x season passes (lifts and unlimited over snow transport)
- on-site accommodation comprising shared bedroom with one queen bed, all bedding and linen provided, ensuite bathroom, small dining area, small desk area, 2 wardrobes, TV monitor, Wi-Fi
- all meals and non-alcoholic beverages
Qualifications/Skills/Experience required for these roles
- Passion to provide members and guests with exceptional food and hospitality.
- Relevant skills and experience in the Hospitality Industry
- A love of Snow Sports and the Alpine environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work under pressure.
- Strong organisational skills
- Current Food Safety Certificate
- Valid Working Visas (if not Australian residents)
- Working with Children Checks (WWCC)
- Police Clearance Certificates
