South Burnett Regional Council is one of the largest employers within the region, with offices and depots located in Kingaroy, Nanango, Wondai, Murgon, Proston and Blackbutt.

Council is comprised of four (4) Departments: Executive Services, Liveability, Finance & Corporate, and Infrastructure. About the Region

The South Burnett Region is ideally situated just 2 - 3 hours' drive to Brisbane, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast and Fraser Coast. The region is home to the stunning Bunya Mountains, where you can enjoy spectacular rainforest walks, nights by the fire in hidden chalets and the best scenic views Queensland has to offer.  The South Burnett region is renowned for its great wine, gourmet foods and recreational facilities such as Lake Boondooma and Yallakool tourist parks.

About the role

  • Based in Kingaroy
  • Permanent Full Time 
  • $90K - $96K per annum + Allowances + Super

Council is seeking a Coordinator to lead the Customer Service team located throughout the Region, in the delivery of outstanding Customer Service to the community and administration to internal stakeholders of the Corporate Services Teams. This position will coordinate, prioritise and complete various daily activities and functions to meet the Customer Service charter, coordinate appropriate rostering of the Customer Service officers to cover all centres, provide support and strategic advice to management, maximise team performance, as well as develop and maintain effective work strategies and procedures to achieve the teams objectives. The successful applicant will have extensive knowledge and skills in Customer Service within a fast-paced
environment (including customer request management, cashiering and administration), ability to lead and motivate a team, skills in leadership and change management, as well as great oral and written communication skills with ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Minimum requirement of a current C Class driver’s licence
  • Certificate IV Business Administration 

Desirable Qualifications 

  • Justice of the Peace or Commissioner for Declarations

Skills and experience

**Please address the following key selection criteria items below, as part of your application**

  1. Extensive knowledge and skills to provide excellent Customer Service within a fast-paced environment, with highly developed skills in customer request management, administration and cashiering.
  2. High level of skill in leadership and change management, and demonstrated ability to identify and implement efficiencies in processes while maintaining a high level of Customer Service
  3. Ability to lead a team including the ability to evoke outstanding team performance, foster cooperation and collaboration, accept responsibility, and display initiative.
  4. Ability to coordinate a team to achieve outcomes, including the ability to prioritise workloads, roster staff effectively and time management skills.
  5. Well-developed oral and written communication skills, and negotiation and conflict resolution skills, including the ability to deal with unreasonable customers.
  6. Experience in, or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of, Councils computer and business systems, and knowledge of MS Office Suite.
