About the Position
The City of Stirling is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated professional to lead the City’s Economic Development team. As the ideal candidate, you will lead a team responsible for developing and implementing strategies that enhance local and regional economic and tourism development programs, and implementing initiatives that support local businesses.
Your team will also be responsible for identifying and developing funding strategies and options to deliver priority plans and strategies that support local businesses and Economic Development for the City with the goal of business retention, expansion and attraction and local employment opportunity growth.
Key Responsibilities
The key duties of the Coordinator Economic Development include:
- Coordinate activities and provide advice to support City-wide economic and tourism development programs and initiatives.
- Engage and consult with business, the community, and stakeholders to identify their requirements and use this information to guide strategy, policy, plans and action.
- Monitor and review financial budgets to identify and report variations and amended forecasts to the Manager City Future.
- Promote the positive and collaborative culture and values of the organisation through open, fair, and transparent decision making and ethical, professional behaviour.
- Lead a team of Economic Development professionals.
About You

- Tertiary qualifications (Degree) in Economics or Business or equivalent
- Excellent public relations skills and demonstrated ability to negotiate and liaise with all levels of government, businesses, the community and key project stakeholders.
- Demonstrated financial management skills related to feasibility studies, business cases and projects.
- Demonstrated experience leading a team.
- Experience in land and property dealings within a Local Government environment.
- Experience in destination marketing.

This permanent full-time position is a Level 9 Inside Workforce Agreement positions which attract a salary from $119,122 - $125,394 gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation. In addition, a Council vehicle may also be available for commuter and/or limited private use, depending on business unit requirements.

- A copy of Australian driving licence
- National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months)
- Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance
