About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity within our Construction & Maintenance team! The City is looking for a community-minded individual to be our next Coordinator Engineering Maintenance. This position will lead the maintenance of an extensive road and drainage network, as well as the electrical services team. It is a fast-paced position that will require exemplary customer service skills with a willingness to improve the quality of life of the community.

The position will be accountable for developing, monitoring, reviewing and updating planned maintenance programs, maximising the performance of staff and contractors, and addressing reactive maintenance requirements. The role allows for a critical thinker to develop and implement new ways of working that improves the performance of the team and leads to better quality outcomes for the community.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

  • Leading the Engineering Maintenance team to deliver outstanding customer service at all times & effectively manage customer expectations through the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance works.
  • Developing an outstanding safety culture within the team
  • Provide input into the planning and preparation of annual budgets & monitor expenditure through work order and financial reporting
  • Coordinate the development, update and implementation of procedures relevant to Engineering Maintenance activities
  • Ensure that the team has appropriately managed contracts to support their operations
  • Research and implement improvement activities within the team
  • Coordinate after hour call outs and emergency situations for engineering infrastructure

About you

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Civil Engineering or equivalent industry experience, ideally supported with post-graduate study in leadership
  • Exemplary customer service skills, with the ability to lead the implementation of customer service processes
  • High level communication skills to deal with internal and external stakeholders and a willingness to make a difference to improve the quality of life for our community
  • Experience leading large diverse teams to high safety and service delivery outcomes
  • An understanding of Local Government infrastructure and maintenance requirements
  • Current Driver’s License
  • A satisfactory National Police Certificate
