  • Full time, $116,884-137,900 + super+ monthly day off.

About the role

Join us at Cardinia Shire Council for a unique leadership opportunity as Coordinator, Financial Planning and Performance. Directing a proactive team dedicated to providing the Council with sophisticated financial advice, ensuring compliance, and delivering strong financial expertise to the organisation. The role is key to ensuring Council meets it financial reporting obligations and ensuring that the highest quality customer service is provided through strategic and collaborative partnering with the organisation.

Collaborating closely with key stakeholders, the coordinator will be instrumental in overseeing multifaceted financial functions ranging from budget management to treasury and audit processes.

This opportunity not only involves financial management of the Development Contribution Plan (DCP) but also includes collaboration with Asset Management and Capital Delivery teams, guiding business units in financial performance reviews, and leading projects for continuous improvement.

About you

We are looking for a CPA/CA ANZ qualified individual with demonstrated experience in a similar Financial Planning, analysis, and reporting role within a large organisation. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership skills, successfully leading and motivating a customer-focused team. They should possess a high level of experience in building and maintaining trusted partnerships with key stakeholders, including senior leaders and managers.

A strategic thinker with a growth mindset, the ideal candidate will have a track record of effective project and change management, showcasing the ability to implement new ways of working, systems, and processes. Strong Financial Planning, budgeting, analysis, and reporting skills, coupled with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, are essential for success in this role.

Experience with integrated financial management systems , exposure to cloud-based technology and an understanding of local government nuances ,will be highly valued.
