The Corporate Governance and Legal Branch includes governance, insurance and claims management, legal services, information management and civic operations.
About the Position
This role is a key position responsible for ensuring and embedding good governance across the organisation. This includes the provision of advice and guidance under the Local Government Act 2020, legislative and statutory compliance, delegations and authorisations, privacy and FOI and Council meetings.
Skills and Experience
Extensive experience in corporate governance fields, particularly in government or a regulatory environment.
Knowledge and understanding of what constitutes an effective and compliant governance program within local government.
Demonstrated experience in one or more of the key governance areas such as legislative compliance, policy, council administration, elections, or councillor support.
Excellent verbal and written communication including the ability to develop rapport with stakeholders.
High levels of personal integrity and confidentiality.
Demonstrated commitment to the pursuit of good governance.
Requirements
Satisfactory National Police Check; and
Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements.
