Coordinator - Internal Audit Risk and Governance
Position Description
The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Coordinator Internal Audit, Risk and Governance to coordinate independent audit services for the Internal Audit Alliance of Councils and to oversee Bland Shire Council’s Internal Audit, Risk and Governance processes to achieve compliance and improvements to business services.
What we are looking for in you
Essential Criteria:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Business Administration, Accounting or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role (3+ years).
- Demonstrated and extensive knowledge and understanding of local government governance, Internal Audit requirements and risk management, with the demonstrated ability to effectively apply this understanding.
- Sound ability to organise, plan, develop and deliver programs and services, working in line with organisational goals, and with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation including the NSW Local Government Act 1993, Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009, Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998.
- Sound computer literacy and ability to use MS Word, Excel and Outlook and relevant professional/technical software.
- Australian resident or equivalent or holding a Visa allowing employment in Australia.
- Class P, P2 or C Driver Licence (unrestricted).
Highly Desirable:
- Sound knowledge of Local Government and the services it provides.
- Experience in or willingness to undertake training in Internal Audit planning and procedures.

- Annual salary from $79,041.56 to $86,155.16 based on a 35 hour week
- Plus an 11% Council Superannuation contribution.
