About You

You are naturally a problem solver, always 2 steps ahead of the situation and have plans A-D with back up from E – J

The Team
This new position is a part of the Talent and Retention team, which sits within the People, Culture and Engagement branch (HR). About the position
This position is pivotal in the design, delivery, and the continuous improvement of contemporary and bespoke, retention strategy initiatives, along with coordination of the temporary employment solutions program for Council.
The successful candidate will be working extensively with stakeholders across the whole organisation, looking at the retention strategy using a whole-of-system approach to find solutions and how they can be implemented to provide the best employee experience within the organisational strategy requirements and best practice.
You will

  • Develop, implement, and coordinate retention initiatives and innovative retention strategies to support the promotion of Council’s employer brand as an employer of choice.
  • Conduct effective engagement activities with internal and external stakeholders to measure the success of Council’s retention strategies.
  • Undertake and coordinate retention services across Council, including providing advice on and educating various stakeholders on retention activities and practices.
  • Oversee Council’s temporary employment solutions program.
  • Provide advice on, and contribute to the development of, policies and procedures related to the retention of employees within Council.
  • Use analyst tools and experience to identify and analyse trends, limitations and successes in the current retention of Council roles.
  • Supervise, develop, motivate and support a team of officers to meet agreed performance standards in an evolving environment.

  • The annual salary range for this position is $91,002.71-$97,075.32 gross per annum, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
