As part of the state wide health service you will be located in this modern 160 bed facility providing high quality health care to the local region. The hospital also offers services in medical, surgical and allied health specialties through inpatient and outpatient departments. The hospital has a strong relationship with the University of Tasmania's Rural Clinical School, and the secondary care facilities are both associated teaching hospitals with contemporary teaching environments.The Department
The health service treats approximately 12,000 acute inpatients and 17,000 Emergency Department patients per year. It provides general surgical, medical, obstetrics and gynaecology, urology, ophthalmology, dentistry, endoscopy, gastroscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy and paediatric services with visiting sub-specialty services including urology, vascular, ENT, paediatric surgery, upper GI surgery and IVF. There is a Critical Care Unit that provides ventilation and haemofiltration. Surgical services are supported by both specialist and general practitioner anaesthetists.About the Role
The Emergency Medicine Consultant will provide senior Medical Support, in conjunction with other medical officers, in Emergency Medicine. This will occur within the principles of care coordination, where patients/clients/residents have access to a highly coordinated health care and community support system.Full time and Part time positions considered.The Requirements:

• To apply you must be registered as a Specialist with AHPRA and hold the FACEM
• Candidates sitting the fellowship clinical examinations are welcome to apply
• IMGs assessed by ACEM and deemed Substantially Comparable
