Love the ocean? Diving, farming coral, boating & more awaits in an entry level role based in Geraldton and the Abrolhos Islands.
Batavia Coral Farm is seeking a passionate human, with a “get stuff done” attitude and an interest in aquaculture and coral. Based in Geraldton, you will travel to the Abrolhos Islands every week (or so) and actively develop our sustainable coral farm as well as harvest stock and collect wild corals (as regulated under our licence & quota). While in Geraldton, your role will be broad, from assisting with water management of our holding tanks, shipments and packing orders, maintenance on our vessels or tanks (and a number of other activities). Research, running trials and growing corals is always welcomed.
Experience
This is an entry level role, the only mandatory experience or attributes are:
- A love of the ocean & some boating history
- A bloody great attitude to life. You have experience in “getting stuff done”
Experience in the following is preferred but not mandatory:
- Dive experience, with an open water dive ticket (or higher)
- Any knowledge in aquaculture / coral such as Cert or Dip of Aquaculture
- Understanding of diesel mechanics and/or maintence of a marine vessel
- Skippers ticket and/or Cert Marine Operations
