About the Role:
As an American chef, you'll undertake a diverse array of culinary duties, spanning a breadth of dishes and cooking methods. Your role will involve crafting a variety of cuisines, from classic burgers and barbecue fare to flavorful tacos. This includes utilising a spectrum of cooking techniques, including grilling, smoking, barbecuing, and stir-frying, to deliver exceptional dining experiences.Responsibilities:Working together with the head chef to develop and revise menus while taking seasonality, ingredient availability, and client preferences into consideration.
preparing and cooking food using methods including grilling, roasting, sautéing, baking, frying, and braising to the greatest standards of quality, flavour, and presentation.
Work closely with suppliers to source seasonal, locally sourced, or specialty ingredients and ensure that they meet the standards of the establishment.
Overseeing kitchen employees, planning work schedules, keeping track of inventories, and maintaining the kitchen equipment.
Evaluating the price of ingredients, serving sizes, and menu pricing schemes.
Requirements:Attain a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or a relevant certification.
Possess a minimum of three years of proven experience in a leadership role as American Chef.
Proven ability to cook American food, demonstrating familiarity with customs, ingredients, and flavours.
Possess a positive mindset, strong communication abilities, and teamwork experience.

You may need to successfully complete a skill assessment administered by the relevant Australian skill assessing authorities (TRA or VETASSESS), depending on the location of your placement or your passport.
