THE OPPORTUNITY
Location: Sunshine Coast | Brisbane | Melbourne - hybrid workplace arrangements
In this role, you will support the Corporate Accounting function of the Australian group, including performing period end close management, Group Reporting to the parent entity each month, preparation of annual financial statements and ad hoc accounting / project work.
The role includes being part of a professional finance team, commensurate with the size and scale of a large-scale manufacturing business.
This is a business-critical role that maintains the financial results of the consolidated group for the Australian Operations, in line with IFRS, at all levels of reporting – including regular shareholder reporting, bank covenant reporting, audited results, and relevant ESG & controls accounting.
YOUR RESPONSILBITIES
- Provide insights to Shareholders, Executives and other stakeholders to enable better informed decision making.
- Ensure data is relevant, accurate, timely & presented to users in a way that enables common understanding of accounts
- Continuous development of reporting platform and methods
- Complete accounting on a monthly basis for nonoperational entities, including reconciliation and analysis work
- Complete all external reporting requirements, including ABS, government reporting, group reporting etc. Optimise reports for efficiency
- Custodian of the end-to-end annual KGF AU insurance renewal program for all insurance policies. Includes co-ordination at Site and Corporate. Include analysis with insurance brokers for approval and organizing HY review
- Manage the end-to-end annual external auditors across the group and audit process including planning, accounts, audit, board papers and lodgement obligations
TO BE SUCCESSFUL
You will bring with you:
- 5 + years similar role
- Accounting degree
- CA qualified
- Experience in consolidation
- Large company or Big 4 / Mid-Tier background
- Possess a strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Have an ability to identify problems, collect and analyse data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
