They are seeking a dedicated Corporate Accountant to work as part of the Corporate Finance team assisting the Financial Controller and Head of Finance to ensure the effective operation of the Corporate Finance function with a focus on accurate, meaningful and timely reporting and financial management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and analyze monthly management accounts, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance, highlighting key trends and issues.
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with various departments to gather necessary data.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements and liaise with external auditors during the audit process.
- Oversee treasury operations by reviewing and managing anticipated payments and receipts, ensuring adequate funds in cash accounts, and transferring surplus funds to interest-bearing facilities.
- Liaise with supply chain and operations to obtain forecasts of foreign currency requirements and ensure sufficient FX hedges are maintained.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide support in the development and enhancement of financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist in ad-hoc projects and financial analysis as required by the management team.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CA qualification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a corporate accounting role, with a strong understanding of financial reporting and analysis.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial modelling.
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and taxation regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Willingness to roll up sleeves is essential, with a natural ability to initiate process improvements, own and resolve problems.
