The purpose of the Corporate Finance Officer is to assist the Group Finance Manager across a wide range of Corporate Finance tasks for the Bright & Duggan Property Group. Due to company growth, this is a newly created position based in head office (Crows Nest Sydney).
About the role:
• Assist in accounts payable and receivable management.
• Assist in daily banking reconciliation.
• Assist and lodge quarterly BAS.
• Maintain EFTPOS (deposit) accounts, including coding/allocating deposits and processing key refunds to strata plans.
• Assist in month-end accounting and financial reporting functions.
• Assist in internal management reporting.
• Assist in treasury management.
• Assist in valuation and financial due diligence for potential acquisitions or partnerships.
• Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and forecasts to provide senior management with insights into the company's financial performance.
• Collaborate with department heads to create and manage annual budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare and submit financial reports to regulatory authorities and tax authorities as required.
• Provide financial and analytical support to the Group Corporate Finance Manager and executives.
• Provide coaching to Corporate Finance Assistants.
• Develop and improve process frameworks related.
About You:
• A relevant qualification in Accounting, Commerce or related.
• Working towards a CA or CPA is desirable.
• Minimim 2-3 years’ experience as a Senior Finance Officer or similar position.
• High level of proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel.
• Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Initiative and the ability to work unsupervised with strong organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high quality work in a timely manner.
• Proven ability to work within a finance team.
