The successful candidate will join MMA’s legal team reporting to the Executive General Manager Legal / Company Secretary. The Corporate Lawyer will assist and advise MMA’s managers on legal matters across all of the Company’s business units and shared service teams. These include matters such as:
- Reviewing, negotiating and drafting a wide range of contracts with clients, suppliers and other third parties.
- Providing practical and legally sound solutions to internal stakeholders.
- Advising on and advancing knowledge of contractual obligations and legal principles amongst internal stakeholders.
- Assisting in the development of and reviewing Company policies and procedures on compliance and governance matters.
- Managing and resolving disputes (including where necessary arbitration and litigation).
- Managing the Group’s insurances including assistance with renewals and claims.
- Engaging with external lawyers and consultants as required.
- LLB Degree or equivalent qualification and admission as a legal practitioner.
- Between 3 – 4 years post-qualification experience
- Experience in corporate/ commercial work attained from a reputable law firm or similar in-house role.
- Ideally with experience in either front-end construction and/or project contracting, advising on corporate & commercial matters or in the fields of maritime or energy and resources.
- A team-orientated, hard-working, enthusiastic mind-set.
- Confident with strong interpersonal skills enabling you to effectively engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Well organised, pragmatic, and commercially minded.
- Strong technical and drafting abilities with attention to detail.
