The Correctional Manager, Business Services will provide leadership and expertise in performance, financial management and corporate governance activities. You will actively participate in the management of key relationships and agreements/contracts of a business nature to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of Business Services in a correctional centre.
In this role you will:
* Provide high level business management analysis and advice to centre management enabling them to deliver quality, cost effective services that are consistent with Agency strategic and operational objectives.
* Develop and maintain appropriate reporting systems and processes to facilitate effective performance, financial and resource management.
* Report and monitor centre performance against key indicators, ensuring that effective internal controls and risk management processes are in place for the centre so as to provide a high level of assurance to centre management on the integrity of reported information.
* Participate in the development and monitor the progress of annual efficiency savings initiatives for the centre.
* Provide financial and activity-based information and respond to requests for information by appropriately gathering and sourcing information for analysis, completing analysis (including variance analysis), providing technical advice and producing reports.
* Manage the performance appraisal and development of staff in conjunction with other centre managers and develop and foster a working environment which is motivated, productive and committed to service delivery as well as compliant with quality human resource management.
* Provide monthly reporting analysis and advice on centre cost centre performance in terms of expenditure, FTE's and activity highlighting relevant variances to assist in decision making processes.
* Support centre management in developing and implementing annual business plans (incorporating centre activity levels, workforce, quality requirements and operating and capital budget) and coordinate the centre's operating budget and forecasting preparation.
* Ensure rostering practices are effective and compliant with relevant awards and policies.
* Monitor and coordinate functions including fleet management, stores, purchasing, property, accounts payable/receivable and maintenance of the Fixed Assets Register.
* Monitor the facilities services activities, including capital and minor works and prepare submissions and provide advice on same.
* Facilitate the allocation of equipment and resources to deliver services.
* Monitor and coordinate the industries function in the centre to ensure the effective use of resources.
* Manage the allocation of budgets for the effective operation of the centre.
* Develop and write business cases and funding submissions to reflect the needs of the centre.
