While accountable to the local General Manager the position will report to RIGCOM CFO based in Sydney.
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Cost Accountant from a manufacturing industry background to join the Hi-Rise team based in Melbourne, to oversee the accurate pricing of custom project works that we create for a vast number of long term clients in the construction, education and infrastructure industries. This is initially a 6-month contract role, with the opportunity to move to a permanent position at the completion of this term.
The core job duties and responsibilities include:
- Managing the ERP system software to ensure that costs are recorded accurately and all material cost and labour information is accurately captured by project
- Developing and maintaining accurate costing systems in relation to labour, production methods and material supply and performing variance analysis on a project basis
- Maintaining standard costs of raw materials, packaging and finished goods in the system
- Stock reconciliations and co-ordination of stocktakes and cycle counts
About You:
The ideal candidate for this role will have good communication skills, a strong work ethic, coupled with a teamwork mentality. An enthusiasm for accuracy and working in a dynamic environment will ensure a high level of task variety and job fulfilment.
More specifically, the skills and attributes that are most needed for this role include:
- Previous cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to effectively communicate with non-finance staff, including those in the warehouse and factory
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated and forward-thinking
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders
- Excellent working knowledge of computer software including Excel and other production/costing software and ERP systems
- Relevant Accounting/Business or Finance degree
- The role would also suit someone currently studying for or completed a CPA or a CA qualification
