AddressOur client manufactures a diverse range of custom-built electronic products for commercial and multi-level residential complexes. This well-known manufacturer requires the services of an experienced Cost Accountant to join them in a Contract role.
Being part of a specialised Finance team, the Cost Accountant will be responsible for partnering with operational stakeholders and key contributors throughout the business in order to drive processes and cost efficiencies directly related to COGS and Labour.
Several initiatives including Competitive Manufacturing and FMEA methodologies, to name a few, are already in place towards achieving enhanced manufacturing practices. The candidate must have a commitment to be a genuine business partner in the role, prepared to nurture effective internal relationships with a prime focus on and attention to effective manufacturing analysis.
Primary responsibilities
- Prepare all Costing reports and analysis for senior management
- Analyses and recommendations for New Product Introduction
- Identify and implement cost reductions initiatives
- Manage relevant elements of the annual budget
- Develop and maintain cost accounting models
- Actual vs budget analysis and observations
- BOM’s, scorecard/KPI and cost reporting
- Inventory control, accounting and analysis
- Manufacturing variance analysis
- Management of product costing
- Minimum of 3 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Interaction with Senior Management and Operational resources
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Degree qualified (CPA or CA an advantage)
- Mandatory ERP exposure – Microsoft Business Central experience an advantage.
