Southern Cross Electrical Engineering (SCEE) is a leading provider of electrical, instrumentation, communication, and maintenance services across Australia. We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Project Administrator Lead to join our team for the Collie Battery Energy Storage System (CBESS) project. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a pioneering renewable energy project in Western Australia.
Position Overview:
The CBESS project, focused on developing a Central Battery Energy Storage System, seeks a Cost Controller. Responsibilities include managing budgets, tracking expenses, analyzing cost data, and ensuring financial efficiency. Strong analytical skills required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management: Monitor and control project costs to ensure adherence to the budget.
- Budgeting: Develop and maintain detailed project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present regular cost reports to project management and senior leadership.
- Variance Analysis: Analyse variances between actual and budgeted costs, providing insights and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks, implementing measures to mitigate them.
- Cost Allocation: Ensure accurate allocation of costs to various project components and phases.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, procurement, and other stakeholders to align financial objectives with project goals.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of financial transactions and project expenditures.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost control, preferably in the energy or construction industry.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial principles, cost control methodologies, and project management.
- Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis
