Job Description
Since establishing a presence in Australia in 2002, ACCIONA have invested more than AUD$1 billion through local investment opportunities and project development. Brisbane City Council has partnered with design and construction consortium, Brisbane Move (made up of construction-lead ACCIONA and design-lead Arup) to deliver the major infrastructure for Brisbane Metro, which includes:
- a new tunnel beneath Adelaide Street and revitalised streetscape from North Quay to Edward Street
- an upgraded Cultural Centre station
- an upgraded entrance to the Cultural Centre Forecourt with new landscaping and wider footpaths
- significant public realm improvements at Melbourne Street and Grey Street
- changes to Victoria Bridge to provide three lanes for Metro and bus services, and dedicated cycling and pedestrian pathways
- upgrades to suburban bus stations including end-of-route Brisbane Metro vehicle charging facilities.
The key objectives for this role are, but not limited to:
- Analytical thinking in relation to the application of tools and the processes around them
- Planning for effective cost control on the project
- Ensuring accurate records are captured and maintained in Linkedsite
- Ensuring correct process and protocols are adhered to, reviewing the system utilization report
- Doing data entry when required to ensure cost control systems are up to date
- Provide training and support of the system to subcontractors, suppliers and project team on how to use the system correctly
- Assisting Finance Manager in day to day management of LinkedSite and other systems that relate to cost control
- Set up key data for new projects and contracts
- Develop reports and periodically review the implementation status and propose improvement action when issues have been identified
- Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary in relation to Quality, Environmental and Safety aspects
- Manage and maintain effective liaison and communication with all levels of project stakeholders
Required Skills And Competencies
- Previous experience (5+ years) on construction projects is highly desirable
- High aptitude to software skills and similar systems
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Package
- A tertiary degree in either engineering, IT, finance, or commerce would be preferred
