What we are looking for
We are seeking a professional and skilled Cost Controller to join our dedicated team based in Brisbane. The successful candidate will work closely with the project managers and operations team to ensure that all project objectives are met. At Bauer you will be working in small teams with other top-level experienced staff.
You will need to have the following qualifications and skills.
- Support the project with cost control and general project duties such as cost estimation, budget creation.
- Coordinate and maintain Cost Management System
- Produce comprehensive project cost reports.
- Timely reporting of actual and committed costs with analysis of variance against budget and forecast.
- Monthly project cost review meetings with Project Managers to discuss projects’ progress costs and forecast.
- Perform capital projects month end process in accordance with the Company’s guidelines and deadlines.
- Assist in the month end process of accurate forecasting of both costs and revenue.
- Assist in coordinating projects’ business cases and other supporting documentations.
- Prepare financial project close out report and ensure project close out process is consistent with project management office internal operations process.
- Assist in processing asset capitalisation.
About you
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in cost control
- Strong understanding of construction contract, procurement processes and relevant legislation
- Professional experience in project cost control
- Strong business partnership skills to drive a culture of effective cost control and improvements,
- Able to prioritise work and respond immediately to changing circumstances and demands,
- Strong organisational skills and ability to focus on multiple tasks at the same time,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in MS-Office package with intermediate to advanced MS excel skills.
- Valid driver’s licence
