The Role:
We are currently in search of an experienced and meticulous Project Cost Controller FIFO 2:1 from Brisbane / Darwin / Sydney, to join our vibrant team. This position is instrumental in ensuring the smooth execution of projects through the development of comprehensive schedules, meticulous tracking of project advancement, and optimization of resource allocation. Your expertise will be pivotal in upholding our reputation for delivering projects punctually, within the defined scope, and budget. Liberty Industrial has recently secured a four-year demolition project in the Northern Territory, and we are actively seeking qualified candidates to fulfill this requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and control internal and external costs related to projects, ensuring alignment with budget forecasts and approved budgets.
- Develop comprehensive cost reports, budgets, and forecasts to support project planning and decision-making.
- Coordinate day-to-day tasks in line with competing priorities to ensure deadlines are met and project timelines are adhered to.
- Participate in the identification, development, and implementation of improvement projects and initiatives within the cost control function.
- Monitor departmental objectives, risks, and successes, and report findings to management as required.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payment and costing issues in a timely manner.
- Assist with ad hoc cost reporting and analysis to support management decision-making.
- Minimum 3 years of cost control experience in a project portfolio environment, preferably in the Decommissioning / Construction or mining industry.
- Tertiary education preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to collaborate within a team environment.
- A professional work ethic and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure while maintaining reliability and accuracy.
- Flexibility and a proactive 'can-do' attitude are essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Be involved with Australia's largest demolition project.
- A permanent, full-time position with a pipeline of interesting, complex projects in the growing decommissioning and demolition industry.
2 and 1 FIFO roster (two weeks on, one week off paid) - All flights, on-site accommodation, meals and travel covered by the company.
