They are an industry leader in lithium, are making their mark on a greenfield project in regional WA in a world-class lithium hydroxide manufacturing facility
The Role
We are currently seeking Cost Controllers for long-term contracts. The key responsibilities of these roles will include developing project budgets, tracking expenditures, forecasting, and ensuring on-budget delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the project with cost control and general project duties
- Implement Project Control processes aligned with the company standards
- Assist in cost estimation and budget creation
- Maintain projects Work Breakdown Structures
- Ensure compliance with corporate cost control standards
- Manage project owner’s costs and staffing for forecasting
- Coordinate and maintain Cost Management System
- Provide cost engineering input to annual planning and budgeting
- Produce comprehensive project cost reports
- Assist procurement in invoicing processing, commercial change management and cliams
- Interface with finance, accounting and supply chain teams
- Collaborate with contractors on costing engineering and reporting
- Participate in cost and schedule risk assessments.
- Review project tender submissions for cost-related information.
The Candidate
To succeed in this role, you be a degree qualified in engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Management or a related technical field, and be capable of demonstrating the following:
- 5 or more years of progressive experience in varying cost control capacities on large capital projects ($150M+).
- Extensive experience in all aspects of cost control or engineering during detailed engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases of a large capital project.
- Expert, hands-on knowledge of SAP including project costing modules.
- Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to understand technical information and communicate progress to both technical and management level personnel.
- Exceptional reporting and presentation skills with good attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work with project teams to influence and achieve desired results.
- Worked in a cost plus environment and managing the forecasts accordingly
- Proficiency in project controls tools and work processes: Earned Value, MS Office (spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, graphics) and Project Controls software (Primavera, etc.).
