The Cost Controller is responsible for monitoring the manufacturing costs of the Bruce Rock Engineering Group. The role requires a strong analytical mindset coupled with excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate, timely, and insightful cost intelligence is provided to key stakeholders within the business.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Monitor and analyse manufacturing costs, identifying trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost optimisation.
- Develop and maintain cost tracking and reporting systems to ensure accurate and up-to-date cost information.
- Assist in maintaining standard costs and costing bills of material to ensure consistent and accurate cost allocation across various products.
- Provide ad-hoc costings for new or special projects/products.
- Stay informed about industry trends, cost control best practices, and regulatory changes that may impact cost management.
- Other tasks and responsibilities as directed by your manager to support the overall goals and success of the organisation.
About you:
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or other related fields.
- Proven experience (5+ Years) in cost control, cost analysis, or related roles, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles.
- Proficiency in using financial software, ERP systems (Epicor experience preferred), and advanced MS Excel functions for data analysis and reporting. Experience with Power BI is advantageous.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-solving attitude with the ability to identify cost-related issues and propose solutions.
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
