Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia. AGIG manages over 40,000km of distribution networks, more than 4,300km of transmission pipelines and 60 petajoules of storage capacity. We employ over 470 people with an additional 1,600 contractors working on our assets.

About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking a professional and skilled Project Cost Controller to join out Transmission Asset Management team. This is a permanent, full time position based in Perth CBD.
Reporting to the Manager Project Services this role is responsible for the provision of Project Cost control and accounting support to the Dampier Bunbury Pipeline Project Management Office. You will be working closely with projects and operational teams to achieve tangible outcomes and effective cost control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set-up and create approved projects within the DBP project management system
- Timely reporting of actual and committed costs with analysis of variance against budget and forecast
- Monthly Project Cost review meetings with Project Managers to discuss projects’ progress, costs and forecast
- Perform capital projects month end process in accordance with Finance guidelines and deadlines
- Provide assistance in coordinating projects’ business cases and other supporting documentations
- Prepare financial project close out report and ensure project close out process is consistent with PMO internal governance process
- Provide assistance in processing asset capitalisation
- Assist in the categorisation of asset class and transition to asset from construction works in progress in a timely manner
- Review and ensure alignment of project details with the access arrangement obligations and financial sign off of all projects close out reports
About You
- CPA/CA qualification; desirable but not essential
- Professional experience in Project Cost control and preferably with exposure to Maximo, and SAP/HANA
- Strong business partnership skills to drive a culture of effective cost control and improvements
- Able to prioritise work and respond immediately to changing circumstances and demands
- Strong organisational skills and ability to focus on multiple tasks at the same time
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in MS-Office package with intermediate to advanced MS excel skills
