This Role
Safety / Environmental / Quality Responsibilities:
- Completing tender checklist prior to final tender review
- Identifying and pricing safety and environmental risks, and implementing appropriate controls
- Proactively identifying potential improvements for safety, environmental, and quality standards
General Responsibilities:
- Providing the project team with engineering, planning and technical support
- Developing technical specifications and documents and assessing potential commercial risks and opportunities.
- Developing tender packages including documents, equipment specifications, and relevant regulations, whilst, providing procurement support
- Planning and preparing engineering scopes of works, by developing construction methodology and accurate cost estimates
- Liaising with internal/external stakeholders and sub-contractors
- Managing the safe execution of project scope
- Understanding client expectations and previous work history
This role involves a combination of technical knowledge (mechanical engineering), project management skills, financial analysis, and a keen understanding of safety, environmental, and quality standards.
What you need
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- Experience in cost estimation and project planning
- Keen interest in financial analysis and modelling
- Advanced problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail in regard to specifications and construction techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to assist in all aspects of a project
- Strong organisational and people management skills
- Able to manage a diverse team of skilled trades and subbies
- Autonomous but also a reliable team player
- Commitment, energy and drive
- Proven track record of working to strict deadlines

The Benefits
- A permanent, fulltime role
- Salary package of $75,000 to $95,000 per annum plus superannuation
- This position will be based in our Head Office at Fortitude Valley
