The Funding and Revenue Branch is responsible for leading and delivering Cost Recovery services and advice, external budgets and costing support, portfolio engagement on financial matters, levies policy and administration and levies compliance functions. Our work requires public service professionals in administrative, policy and financial roles that come together under the leadership of our directors. Our work is often high profile, and we engage with the department's external stakeholders including industry, representative groups, and our Minister.
The Biosecurity and Exports Cost Recovery Teams design and manage Cost Recovery arrangements for regulatory activities. The teams are critical business enablers for service delivery in the portfolio with more than 40 percent of the department’s revenue sourced from cost recovered activities. The teams also provide advice and costing support for new policy proposals which impact cost recovered activities. Opportunities exist in both the Agricultural Exports and Biosecurity (Imports) Cost Recovery teams.
The Job
We are seeking to fill multiple vacancies with motivated and enthusiastic people. The key duties of the roles include but are not limited to:
- Contributing to the leadership of a multi-disciplinary team that develops, implements, administers, and improves the department’s Cost Recovery arrangements.
- Providing advice to the department’s executive on the sustainability and suitability of Cost Recovery arrangements.
- Contributing to the creation and publishing of web-based and other industry communication.
- Contributing to the development of Cost Recovery implementation statements.
- Undertaking stakeholder engagement activities to ensure efficient administration and reporting on Cost Recovery arrangements.
- Contribute to change management for Cost Recovery.
- Engaging with public sector frameworks including the Australian Government Charging Policy, the Australian Government Cost Recovery Policy, and the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013.
- Assisting in the development of material to build Cost Recovery literacy.
- Promoting a client-focused culture through collaboration with other government agencies, industry consultative committees, and internal and external stakeholders.
- Undertaking research or review of complex and often sensitive Cost Recovery issues.
