About the Department
Working within Biosecurity Queensland's Animal Biosecurity & Welfare program, the successful candidate will be part of Dangerous Dogs Project team that provides support to the government's Stronger Dog Laws initiative.
Key Duties
- Responsible for creating training material based on changes to state legislation and delivering training to local governments on the changes to legislation.
- Working with investigators to develop procedures and manuals for the investigation of dog attacks and animal management generally.
- Working with a web design officer to put training material into a course format on a government website for use by local government.
- Working with investigators to undertake specific ad-hoc training to local governments based on operational and training needs.
Essential requirements for this role:
- Experience creating and delivering training material.
- Experience in delivering training online and in person in gov/policy/regulatory context.
Highly desirable to this role are:
- Experience delivering legislative change and procedural change to local government or equivalent.
Experience delivering training to regional/remote communities
Term of Engagement:
The term of contract engagement the department is currently seeking up to 30 June 2026 (2 years).
