AddressThe Role
Toll People are seeking an experienced, safety conscious gas forklift operator to work Monday through Friday (5am start) for a leading distribution warehouse in Epping. The shifts are 4 hours minimum, and you must be able to read and write in English, able to read con notes to ensure names, labels & post codes match the truck being loaded. You will be responsible for opening the site for loading of rigid's and must hold a valid forklift license. We are looking for someone who is available for an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities
- Self-motivated, experienced operator - 5am start, after initial inductions and training you will be required to open the site for loading of the rigids
- Experience as a leading hand or supervisor would be beneficial - approx. 8 rigids daily, some 1 or 2 lifts - others are full loads.
- You will be required to manage the drivers and loading to safely perform this operation - keep drivers in the cabs or in the driver's safety area / use of stop signs & wheel chocks etc
- Daily tasks are normally safely completed in a 2 to 3 hour timeframe, but some days it will take longer if trucks are late, bigger than usual volumes, or drivers are sick etc
- Need to be capable of sending an email from your mobile to customer service if required to advise if any delays or a second truck is required for a particular run.
Skills & Experience
- MUST hold a current forklift license (no experience required)
- Take pride in your work
- Have a safety obsessed mindset
- Provide two valid work references
- Hold a valid driver's license with reliable transport
- You will require approved safety footwear, Hi-vis (yellow) tops or vests with reflective tape and ensure all drivers comply with this as well.
