About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Court Triage and Housing Worker! You will assist specifically referred clients to address issues regarding risk of homelessness. Overall outcome for this role is to reduce ongoing homelessness and re-offending amongst court support participants.
Responsibilities include
Assessment of immediate and long-term housing needs to service users who are at risk of homelessness upon release on bail
Explore and connect service users to appropriate housing options
Identify new networking opportunities, as well as build and maintain relationships with both internal and external services and agencies
Foster services that are accessible and culturally sensitive to diverse client and community needs
Establish positive relationships with Court Services Victoria, THM and head-leasing providers
This is a fixed-term part-time position, contracted for 6 months, 22.8 hours per week. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 5 Award.
What you will have
Tertiary qualification in Social Work or related community service field
Degree level preferred however lower qualifications with significant experience (suitable)
Ability to respond to needs of individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness
Knowledge of homelessness sector including role, context, principles and legislation
Applies homelessness models and practices when dealing with clients
Knowledge of Justice system and experience working in correctional settings (considered highly desirable)
Experience working with a range of stakeholders and networks
Current Driver's Licence
