Regional Worker Housing Specialist
- Salary: $106,534 - $128,897 (Plus Superannuation)
- Fixed term role: Until June 2026
- Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)

Reporting to the Manager Regional Coordination, the Regional Worker Housing Specialist will play a key role in supporting the design, coordination, delivery and legacy of the Victorian Government's $2 billion Regional Package, with a focus on providing new housing options for regional communities.
The Regional Worker Housing Specialist will be responsible for:
- Support the design, coordination, delivery and legacy of the Victorian Governments Regional Package implementation within the Gippsland region, with a focus on supporting Regional Worker Housing initiatives, such as the $150 million Regional Worker Accommodation Fund
- Create and prepare high quality, well researched correspondence, reports, submissions and briefings with clear and concise recommendations that reflect government policy and priorities, within agreed timeframes to inform decisions and outcomes.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders across DJSIR, Victorian and Commonwealth agencies, local government and other key stakeholders as required, consulting on the development and implementation of Regional Package/ Regional Worker Housing initiatives, to ensure they meet the needs of local communities through innovative solutions in complex settings.
The Team
The position of Regional Worker Housing Specialist forms a part of the Regions branch within the Regional Development and Outdoor Recreation group.
- Specialist Expertise: Sound understanding of the key industry and economic drivers, and knowledge of Government policies and programs, current and emerging trends specifically related to housing availability, affordability, and development in rural and regional communities.
- Project Management: Consults, liaises with and influences key stakeholders; produces detailed project plans where objectives are clearly defined and action steps for achieving them are clearly specified; monitors performance against objectives and manages project risks and issues; ensures project objectives are met. Considers innovative and complex project management outcomes for housing solutions that are place based and deliverable.
- Stakeholder Management: Identifies issues in common for one or more stakeholders and uses to build mutually beneficial partnerships; identifies and responds to stakeholder's underlying needs; uses understanding of the stakeholder's organisational context to ensure outcomes are achieved; find innovative solutions to resolve stakeholder issues.
