About the role
The Crane Technician's primary role will be responsible for servicing & repairing all overhead / bridge / gantry cranes and hoists on-site, ranging in capacity from 250 - 10,000kg. The position will be on dayshift working 10 hours per shift. Mandatory working days would be Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays (penalty rates applicable). There is flexibility with start times and remaining works days.
Key criteria required
* Trade qualification - A Grade Electrician
* Strong knowledge/experience within the Crane Industry with good mechanical aptitude, preferably with Demag equipment,
* Knowledge of the Australian Crane Codes and Standards,
* High Risk EWP License and Working at Heights certificate,
* Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment,
* The ability to work autonomously and use your initiative whilst being a key player in a successful maintenance team.
* Basic Rigger qualifications would be beneficial
* Full medical clearance required
Key Responsibilities for the role
* Carry out inspections and maintenance of electrical/mechanical components of all overhead cranes and hoists,
* Diagnose and repair faults on crane equipment,
* Report on condition of crane equipment and provide direction/input,
* Maintain and improve the crane spares store,
* Perform other foundry maintenance work as required.
