Our client is a diverse Family Office Group with investments across Agriculture, Real Estate and Private credit. They manage a diversified portfolio of loans of several hundred million dollars. With a collaborative culture that spans the whole group from head office through to operations – they focus on achieving value-add outcomes through making astute commercial assessments.
The Role
Reporting directly into the Financial Controller you will be a key part of the management of the credit book conducting comprehensive credit analysis and maintaining accurate financial records. Other responsibilities will include:
- Conduct comprehensive credit analysis for commercial clients.
- Manage information required for new loans.
- Calculate Internal Rates of Return (IRRs) on completed loans.
- Maintain and update the declined loans list and opportunities.
- Maintain loans in the loan management software.
- Manage ongoing accounting tasks in relation to the loan book including all accounting transactions, bank reconciliations, general ledger reviews, Business Activity Statements (BAS), and year-end tax calculations.
- Actual processing of all loan-associated costs/invoices, setting up bank transfers, payments
- Assist with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance.
- Prepare monthly dashboards and partnership accounts as required.
- Provide general assistance with the credit book.
You will have a professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA or equivalent) and a strong background in credit analysis in the private finance sector. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills along with being a committed team player with a practical can-do attitude. Other key requirements will include:
- Strong analytical skills, particularly in credit analysis.
- Previous experience with a family office or private credit provider.
- Familiarity with loan agreements, security agreements (GSAs), security documents, and mortgages is essential.
- High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to learn new software with ease.
- Exposure to commercial property is advantageous.
