An exciting opportunity to have a direct impact on the risk culture of our organisation and increase the level of risk awareness across our organisation.
About the role
We're currently on the hunt for a Senior Analyst, Credit Risk to support our Credit Risk team through the development and implementation of credit policies to support the risk management function. This role will be offered as a 12 month fixed term contract to target the implementation of the People First Bank lending policies into both brands.
Other responsibilities include:
- Encouraging a Credit Risk aware culture, ensuring Credit Risks are understood.
- Identifying opportunities to improve Credit Risk processes.
- Working collaboratively with all areas of the business to achieve sustainable growth within the Board Risk Appetite.
- Supporting the development of Analysts within the Credit Risk team, providing mentoring and promoting an understanding of Credit Risk concepts.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of lending policies that support the organisation's strategy.
- Analysing, monitoring, benchmarking, and reviewing trends in the lending portfolio.
- Monitoring prevalent conditions in the market, industry and economy to identify possible impacts on and changes to the Credit Risk profile of the business.
- Providing information for the appropriate audience and implement required changes.
- Supporting Credit Risk leaders to identify and measure benefits of proposed initiatives.
- Preparing reports, information papers and submissions for the board and various committees, regulators and rating agencies.
- Participating in new product or channel development process, assisting with identification of Credit Risks and potential impact on the risk appetite.
- Supporting data integration projects.
- Support all aspects of managing Credit Risk across the business as directed.
About you
You will be well versed in Credit Risk or consumer lending in a financial services setting. You will have strong analytical & conceptual skills and the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders with the ability to influence stakeholders. Well developed analysis, information papers and submissions are essential. You will also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Knowledge of contemporary Credit Risk management practices
- Knowledge of credit assessment techniques
- Knowledge of the financial services industry including legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Experience writing reports and submissions.
