About the Role
Reporting to Program Lead Environment, this is a pivotal role within the Service Delivery Portfolio. As the Crew Arborist you will be responsible for: execution of tree and vegetation management, making a difference to our working environment within a place where you can learn and perform to your fullest potential.
- Performing tree and vegetation management and maintenance/project activities including tree climbing, and aerial lift duties.
- Operating heavy plant and equipment.
- Understanding and undertake defined quality control/assurance on activities performed.
- Taking care of own and colleagues Health and Safety through identification and reporting of hazards and active involvement in improvement initiatives.
- Performing routine maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Support a culture of Health, Safety & Wellbeing.
- A valid Driver's Licence is required as this role requires occasional travel.
About you:
- You have the ability to work proactively as a member of the team, contribute fully to team decision-making and take responsibility for own role in ensuring the safety of all team members and other personnel on site.
- Demonstrated experience performing ground, tree climbing, and aerial lift duties with relevant certificate of competency, Certificate III in Arboriculture.
- Other qualifications such as Industry White Card, Chainsaw Ticket, Chemcert etc.
- Problem solving skills, including the ability to deliver the appropriate outcomes.
- Sound interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of people both within Melbourne Water, external organisations and with the general public.
- Ability to work and contribute in a team environment to improve processes, respond to various demands and manage multiple activities simultaneously.
This is a full-time role based at South East Regional Office (SERO) in Bangholme with field-based works occurring on sites and assets throughout Melbourne Waters network
