Steamatic North Queensland [Townsville, Cairns, & Mackay] is a locally owned branch [operating within a National network that has traded for over 30 years] servicing the Insurance, Building & Facilities Management industries. Primarily providing Restoration services to commercial and residential properties after flood, fire, water, mould and storm damage; we are a niche business delivering a wide variety of services.
We are looking for a crew member who has the following attributes:
- understand maintenance, cleaning & construction basics
- have the empathy to interact with people in stressful conditions
- carry out work on the tools
- provide mature leadership to small crews
- extract water, install drying equipment
- remove carpet and/or carpet steam cleaning
- mould and fire remediation - setting up containment, installing air filtration equipment, small structural strip out works
- household contents restoration - packing out, cleaning and sorting, re-packing
- laundry - washing and folding
- use ipad apps to create Inventory Reports, create on site Assessment Reports
- liaise with clients and other industry professionals

You will need
- Solid attention to detail and capacity to complete set tasks thoroughly
- Physically fit and energetic [lifting up to 20kgs]
- A can-do attitude, with a solutions driven personality
- Current Qld Driver’s license
- Strong written and verbal communication. Excellent verbal skills are essential.
- Ability to ensure jobs are assessed, scheduled and managed within budget and time specifications
- Confidence and ability to deal with a diverse range of people – and to have empathy in every situation
- Ability to travel throughout North Queensland for short Living Away From Home assignments
- Lateral thinking and skillset to see tasks through to their completion
- The nerve to manage competing deadlines
- Professional personal presentation
- Ability to pass National clients’ various security checks - including Queensland police checks.
- Basic computer literacy – all works are driven by and reporting carried out using proprietary software
- Current White Card and ability to get Blue Card
- The right to work in Australia and be prepared to undergo drug and alcohol testing
