    About the Opportunity

    Jetstar’s Operations Delivery team are nothing less than the nerve centre of our airline. All of our team members within our Operations Delivery team play a critical role in managing the logistics compliance and safety relating to daily movements of our aircraft, team members and passengers.

    As the Crewing Duty Supervisor, you will be the point of contact and escalation on shift for key stakeholders, proactively anticipate and respond to events that may impact operational integrity and ensure all Jetstar flights are resourced efficiently, consistently and in accordance with all regulatory rules. Reporting to the Manager Crewing Operations & Planning, you will assist in driving daily output from the crewing team to ensure business strategies are maintained and performance issues are raised.

    The core responsibilities of this role are;

  • Act as supervisor for technical queries related to relevant EBAs, legal obligations and company policies
  • Ensure daily compliance with relevant industrial, regulatory or company requirements
  • Provide feedback on standard procedures to better departmental and business outcomes
  • Ensure all appropriate measures are taken to mitigate any crewing issues that may contribute to on time performance loss and promote mitigation strategies with leadership team
  • Ensure cost control and awareness is aligned with business strategy and initiatives
  • Lead and monitor crewing officer performance on shift
  • Lead by example to maintain business principles and values and drive improvement
  • Mentor crewing officers in leadership responsibilities with the aim to prepare them for the senior position
  • Ensuring that our crew are rostered and managed safely to minimise risk and ensure compliance
  • Ensure all safety risks or regulatory breaches are raised with designated stakeholders in a timely manner
  • To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Experience/knowledge of Crewing or crew Planning preferred
  • Experience working in a busy team based, operationally focused environment.
  • Ability to work in an operational environment subjected to pressures of time and cost factors
  • Preferred Degree or relevant Airline Experience Working knowledge of the Sabre Rocade system preferred but not essential
  • Have the ability to work on a 24-hour rotating shift roster
  • Proven ability to manage people and strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Ability to use own initiative and experience to achieve and maintain maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Excellent time management skills and verbal and written communication skills
  • To achieve success in this role, you will be a natural team player, with great organisational skills and an ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. You will have strong interpersonal, diplomacy and computer skills and have the confidence to effectively negotiate positive outcomes.
