We are seeking CRM Developers across our Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide or Melbourne locations. Offers will be based on operational requirements and made at the APS 6 or Executive 1 Level depending on candidate performance, skills and experience. Full-time hours with flexible working arrangements are available.

About the OFWO

The Office of the Fair Work Ombudsman (OFWO) is an independent statutory office established by the Fair Work Act 2009 (Fair Work Act). Our functions outline the responsibilities we have as set by the Fair Work Act and other legislation to achieve our purpose:

  • provide education, assistance, advice and guidance to employers, employees, outworkers, outworker entities and organisations
  • promote and monitor compliance with workplace laws
  • inquire into and investigate breaches of the Fair Work Act
  • take appropriate enforcement action
  • perform our statutory functions efficiently, effectively, economically and ethically.

Eligibility

  • To be eligible for employment with the OFWO you must be an Australian citizen. 
  • The successful candidate must hold a current Australian Government Security Clearance (AGSVA) or be willing to undergo and obtain a Baseline security clearance.

About the Branch 

The Technology Branch is responsible for delivering and maintaining secure, stable, reliable, and modern internal and external facing systems that support OFWO business areas to deliver OFWO’s functions to the highest standard. Our IT infrastructure is provided under a Memorandum of Understanding with Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.

About the Role

The Technology Branch is looking for a Developer/s who specialise in CRM (Dynamics) who may also have an interest in or experience with working in SharePoint (SP2013/SPO) and .Net.
The successful candidate/s work in the Customer and Collaboration team, but may be called on, from time to time, to assist other teams within the Branch that are responsible for developing and maintaining the suite of systems and applications in OFWO which support a range of internal and external stakeholders. 

Some of those platforms include, ServiceBus, Dynamics 365, SharePoint and Azure Search. 

Typical Duties 

TheCRM Developer provides expert advice on complex problem solving and issues management for maintenance and enhancement of existing systems and development of new systems. The duties of this role include, however, are not limited to:

Technical:

  • Demonstrate a high level of proficiency, expertise and knowledge of CRM (Dynamics) 
  • Ability to assess and apply all aspects of the systems development life cycle (SDLC) in accordance with established processes, policies and procedures and the Project Management Framework (PMF)
  • Lead and supervise a small technical team, including providing expert advice and assistance to team members, identifying and building capability and managing performance (including underperformance).
  • Ability to assess and respond effectively to emerging issues, challenges and risks
  • Set and maintain high quality standards through design and coding reviews.
  • Produce and implement quality management and governance documents such as Solution Architecture, Disaster Recovery Plans, Security Risk Management Plans, Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Data migration, including creating and running SSIS packages.
  • Maintain second level support functions and assist to develop and empower first level support functions. 
  • Maintain and support related tools and technology for core systems and SDLC practices.
  • Align work direction to guiding principles such as Enterprise Architecture, Cloud Strategy and other standards and methodologies required.

Projects:
  • Support and coordinate enhancement of existing systems through change management processes
  • Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, to support the OFWO IT investment.
  • Engage with key project stakeholders to deliver project outcomes, support business stakeholders to achieve business benefits 
  • Contribute to project planning through feasibility assessment of business requirements and estimates of development work effort.
  • Perform the role of Technical Advisor in an agile project management team.
  • Assist in evaluating specialist proposals from contractors, select contractors and manage contractors.

Leadership:

What we are looking for
 
To be successful in the role at both APS Level 6 and Executive Level 1 you will possess:
  • Demonstrated understanding of DevOps principles, Agile methodologies, software development, and automation concepts.
  • Knowledge of the configuration and administration of common tools that make up software delivery pipelines (such as Git and TFS)
  • Ability to contribute to the operation, maintenance, continuous improvement, change management, and documentation of the systems and services that make up the operational environments that the team supports.
  • Ability to work within cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams and adapt to evolving needs, with a willingness and aptitude to learn new technologies, tools, and practices.

To be considered for an Executive Level 1 Position you will also possess:
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising and managing a team of developers, including providing expert advice and assistance to team members
  • Demonstrated high level proficiency and experience in configuring and developing solutions in Dynamics CRM including:
    • Strong understanding on fundamentals of Dynamics CRM development models and PowerPlatform 
    • Ability to manage a team to create, implement and troubleshoot existing or new applications and integrations with external apps such as Logic Apps  
    • Evidence of a strong track record managing end-to-end SDLC full stack concerns for complex applications
  • Experience and in-depth knowledge in the following technologies: 
    • .NET and C#
    • Web Services, API, REST
    • JavaScript and client-side scripting
    • Enterprise Service Bus middleware
    • Complimentary Azure IaaS and PaaS offerings
    • PowerPlatform – Power Automate, Power BI, PowerApps and Dataverse
  • Sound understanding of the principles and techniques of requirements gathering, analysis, specification, and validation
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills, including evaluating risks in the context of a complex and changing environment
  • Ability to collaborate with, and influence internal stakeholders, to identify different paths to a solution and then negotiate an outcome.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interpret complex technical information/concepts to a broad range of stakeholders.
