The Perioperative Unit, situated at the Sale Campus, consists of two Operating Rooms, one Endoscopy room, a Day Procedure Unit, and the Central Sterilising Supply Department. It hosts a range of surgical procedures including General Surgery and various specialties like Orthopaedics, Urology, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Gynaecology, and Obstetrics, all conducted at CGHS.
About the Role
- Clean, sterilise, inspect and package surgical instruments
- Provide timely sterile products, trays and equipment where applicable
- Ensure all sterilising standards and infection control measures are adhered to
- Support the perioperative manager and other team members in managing resources
- Manage documentation
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and excellence across all areas of the hospital
- You will ensure consistency and maintaining the highest of operational standards of the sterilisation department
About You
To succeed in the role, you will need a minimum Certificate III or IV in Sterilising Services
- Prior experience working in a sterilising unit, minimum one year
- Knowledge of AS 5369:2023 (previously AS4187) standards and infection control guidelines is essential
- Proven experience in ophthalmology, dental, plastics, orthopaedics and general surgery instrumentation
- Knowledge of sterilisation procedures and practices
- Demonstrated passion for patients and healthcare
