An exciting position has become available in the Perioperative department at ERH for a Central Sterilizing Services Department (CSSD)/Theatre Technician. This hands-on role will suit someone with a motivated personality and passion for patient care and infection control. This is a fantastic opportunity that includes training in the field and work hours.
The position will involve rostered hours as both a Theatre Technician and CSSD Technician.
Within your role as a CSSD Tech you will be committed to the excellence in patient care through the effective processing of reusable surgical and medical equipment and the provision of sterile supplies. Full details for both roles can be found in the attached positions descriptions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the transport and safety of the Perioperative patient
- Ensuring the safe processing of Perioperative Instrumentation
- Working towards qualifications Cert 3) in both areas (as per position description) in the first 12 months
- Demonstrate previous experience with the following –
- Communicate well at all levels
- Build a positive Culture around service
Our team requires someone who has:
- Ideally has qualifications in CSSD and or Theatre technician (Cert 3) or would be willing to undertake further studies.
- Experience working in a field where infection prevention is held in the highest regard
- High-level awareness of Safety and policies and processes
- Demonstrated knowledge of sterilisation processes
- A team player
This position requires completion of a satisfactory National Police Check and (where relevant) provision of a Working With Children Check and check on the Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme prior to appointment. In addition, this position requires evidence of vaccination status for COVID-19.
