Gippsland Southern Health Service (GSHS) is a major provider of healthcare in the South Gippsland Shire. GSHS offers a broad range of services that meet the needs of a diverse area.
Medical Imaging at GSHS, provides a comprehensive range of services including Computed Tomography (CT), ultrasound, general x-ray, Mammography and Bone Mineral Densitometry (BMD). With a new state-of-the-art CT scanner, we will soon offer Cardiac CT services to the South Gippsland community. Additionally, we undertake a range of Interventional procedures which include; PICC line insertions, FNA and core biopsies, drainages of pleural and abdominal collections, spinal injections as well as musculoskeletal pain management injections.
About the Role
Due to expansion of services, Gippsland Southern Health Service currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced CT Radiographer to join our dynamic and supportive Medical Imaging Team as CT Modality Lead.
Ideally, this is a permanent, full-time position with opportunities for on-call. However, GSHS is committed to flexible working arrangements and is offering this position up to full time or perhaps a job-share arrangement. The position will be based primarily at Leongatha Hospital but you will be required to work across both campuses. Operationally, you will be responsible to the Medical Imaging Manager.
As a key member of the Medical imaging team your primary objective as CT team leader is the day to day management and provision of a high quality, efficient and patient focussed Computed Tomography service.
About You
You will have a Degree in Medical Imaging Science (Radiography) or hold an equivalent qualification with current AHPRA Registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner. You should have demonstrated clinical practice in CT with proven experience in CT angiography.
Preference will be given to candidates with;
Cardiac CT experience or a willingness to learn and develop skills in this area. Training in CTCA will be supported with professional development leave and financial support.
Project management experience or an interest in project management
Experience developing CT protocols, policies, and procedures
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients, colleagues and all stakeholders

Selection Criteria
Essential : I have had my COVID-19 vaccine, or if I am successful in obtaining this role, I am willing to receive a COVID-19 vaccine (3) before commencing.
Essential : Bachelor degree (honours) in Radiography / Medical Imaging or other approved qualificatio with demonstrated CT experience .
Essential : Provide leadership and expertise in managing all aspects of the CT service and deputise for the Medical Imaging Manager, as required.
Essential : Lead the development of new CT services, including Cardiac CT and CT Coronary Angiography.
Essential : Develop, implement and review CT protocols and policies, in accordance with GSHS procedures.
Essential : Develop CT education, training and assessment for Medical Imaging Technologists, Nurses and Student Radiographers.
Essential : Dynamic, self-motivated and flexible individual with the capacity to be understanding, display empathy and problem solve effectively.
Desirable : Completion of postgraduate qualification in CT.
Desirable : Experience in cardiac CT and CT coronary angiography or a willingness to learn
